Drazica Beach: Quiet Pine Cove Near Biograd na Moru

Drazica is a quiet pebble cove between Soline and Bosana, about 7 km south of Martha's Oliveyard. It is the local choice when you want pine shade, clear water for snorkeling, and no beach bars or crowds - bring everything, leave nothing behind.

Location and how to get there

Drazica sits between Soline beach and Bosana / Crvena luka on the coast south of Biograd. Access:

  • Car: 12 minutes from Martha's Oliveyard, 7 km on the D8 with a turn-off about 1 km past Soline. Small unpaved parking lot, free.
  • Coastal footpath: 40 minutes south from Biograd centre, or 15 minutes from Soline beach.
  • By boat: small craft can anchor in the cove; no buoy field.

Walk down from the parking lot through a short pine path to the beach.

Sea floor and swimming

Drazica is slightly deeper than Soline:

  • 0-10 m from shore: knee-deep, pebble
  • 10-30 m: gradually to chest height, mix of pebble and rock
  • 30+ m: deeper, no more standing

The bottom is mostly pebble with rocky sections along the edges of the cove. Snorkeling is excellent - clear water and rocky terrain mean you see fish (small bream, wrasse, occasional octopus). Bring your own mask and snorkel.

Water temperature matches Soline: 18-21 C in May, 22-24 C in July-August, 21-23 C in September.

What it has, what it does not

Drazica is intentionally bare:

What it has:

  • Pine shade right at the back of the beach
  • Free parking (unpaved, 15-20 cars)
  • Quiet atmosphere even in peak season

What it does not have:

  • No beach bar or food
  • No sunbed or umbrella rental
  • No toilets or showers
  • No lifeguard
  • No mobile service in places (limited coverage)

Bring water, snacks, towels, a small beach tent or umbrella, sunscreen, and trash bags.

Best time to go

Mid-afternoon (2-4 p.m.) is the quietest, even in peak season - most visitors are at lunch. Early morning (7-9 a.m.) is the second-quietest, with calm sea and perfect light.

Avoid weekends in July-August - Drazica gets a small crowd from local day-trippers but never as busy as Soline. Mid-week in any month works.

In shoulder season (May, June, September), the cove is empty most days.
