Beaches in Pakostane: A Local Guide

Pakostane has three main beach areas: Janice (long shallow family bay at the eastern edge of the village), Bosana / Crvena luka (a sheltered cove with red pine cliffs 2 km south), and dozens of smaller pebble coves between the village and Drage. All are easier and less crowded than the equivalent Biograd beaches.

Janice beach

Janice is the main family beach of Pakostane. Long shallow strip, fine to medium pebbles, pine shade right behind. Located at the eastern edge of the village towards Biograd.

What it has: small kiosk for coffee and snacks, pine shade. What it does not: sunbed rental, lifeguard.

Best for: families who want quieter than Soline, locals after-work swim, anyone with a stroller (flat access). 8 km / 12 minutes from Martha's.

Bosana / Crvena luka

Bosana / Crvena luka is the most photogenic cove in the area - sheltered pebble bay backed by red pine cliffs, clear deep water. Located 2 km south of Pakostane village.

Access: 10-minute walk along the coastal path from Pakostane, or drive 5 minutes to the Crvena luka resort parking lot, then walk 5 minutes down. Some steps; not stroller-friendly.

Crvena luka resort has a bar and small spa accessible to outside guests. The cove is otherwise bare - bring everything.

Best for: snorkeling, swimming, photographers, cliff jumping (at your own risk). Not for toddlers - water gets deep fast. 10 km / 14 minutes from Martha's.

Small coves and Punta

Between Pakostane and Drage, the coast has dozens of small pebble coves and rocky bathing platforms. The coastal footpath runs about 3 km south from the village - easy walking, mostly flat.

Punta at the western edge of Pakostane is a rocky bathing area with concrete platforms and direct access to deeper water. Used by locals more than tourists; quiet on most days.

For families with older kids who can swim, the small coves offer excellent snorkeling and a sense of finding "your own" beach for the afternoon.
